WQHK has been a Country powerhouse in Fort Wayne for as long as anyone can remember. Today, most folks know them as “K105″, broadcasting at 105.1 on the FM band. But WQHK was originally on 1380AM. I was fortunate enough to be able to hear them at night, although with a pretty good noise floor. 1380 was a busy frequency in my area. I managed to snag this quick aircheck when WQHK was at maximum “bounce” and thus on top of the pile of stations on the channel. Does anyone know who the jock is here?

This was received from Apple Valley, Minnesota, using a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver and horizontal longwire antenna. The recording was made using a Technics stereo cassette deck and a TDK D90 tape.
