Here’s a quick sweeper used by Cool 105.9 back in 1991. I wish I had more airchecks of this station. Scott Sherwood was a brilliant Oldies programmer with an airstaff to match. Unfortunately, I was only 27 years old at the time, so I didn’t yet appreciate the Oldies format as I do now.
This was recorded from my place, 6 miles south of Ocala. Equipment used was a Realistic AM/FM/CD/Cassette portable stereo with Sony LN90 tape. Since WOCL’s big signal from Orange City blanketed Marion County, only the built-in telescoping antenna was needed.

Cool 105.9 was really a great Radio Station! During my vacations in de late 80′s it was my favorite station in Orlando.

Hi Henry,
Like many in Orlando, I hated to see Cool 105.9 drop Oldies and switch format. The jocks were great and so was the music. Especially when Chancellor owned them (up until the mid-1990s.)
