In 1983, WJJY was Brainerd’s “new” FM station. It had signed on a few years earlier to compete with the market’s established FM, KLIZ. Format was Adult Contemporary with lots of local news and a “folksy” presentation. Jerry Freed does this very well, as you’ll hear on this short aircheck. Very short, unfortunately.
I received this from Apple Valley, MN, using a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver, Winegard 10 element FM yagi antenna, Alliance U-100 Tenna Rotor, and Belden ultra low loss coaxial cable. The recording was made to a Technics stereo cassette deck with a TDK SA90 tape.
