Denver’s KNUS was talk radio before talk radio was cool! Back in 1983, KOA was still playing music. But KNUS featured “talk shows, 24 hours a day”, as you will hear on this recording.

KNUS was a tough catch into Minnesota at night. WHB in Kansas City absolutely owned the 710 frequency in my area. But by carefully constructing a configuration of horizontal longwires as an antenna, I was able to hear KNUS. Recorded during the overnight hours, here’s their Legal ID, going into ABC Radio News.

This was received from Apple Valley, Minnesota, using a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver. A Technics stereo cassette deck and TDK D90 tape were used to make this recording.
