“How do I get a deal on the iPhone 5?” “Where is the iPhone 5 on sale at the best price?” I’ve been getting these questions regularly for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, Apple iPhone 5 pricing is standard: $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB version, and $399 for the 64GB model. All pricing assumes a standard 2-year wireless service contract. The iPhone 5 is available from “the big 3” carriers: AT&T Wireless, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless. T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular are expected to get the iPhone 5 at a later date.
The iPhone 5 is currently available in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the United Kingdom. On September 28, it will be made available in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Although there aren’t many sales or special offers to be found on the iPhone 5, you should be able to find a great deal on an iPhone 4S. Those who want the “latest and greatest” will be selling their older iPhones at competitive prices. If you are selling or trading in an iPhone 4S, be sure to back up your phone’s data, then erase everything. This is a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many people sell or trade their iPhone without deleting their personal data and contacts!
The early iPhone 5 product reviews have been extremely positive. CNET says “Finally, the iPhone we’ve always wanted.” Be looking for more reviews as people begin receiving their new iPhone 5s and begin using them. In a nutshell, it’s a great product and was well worth the wait. But don’t expect any big sales, deals, or special offers on the iPhone 5 any time soon. Supply and demand, my friends. Good luck!
