KJJK was a fairly new station at the time of this recording. I can’t remember their exact sign on date, but I believe it was in 1982 sometime (?) They became the third radio outlet in the market, joining KBRF-AM 1250 and KBRF-FM 103.3. Note the AP Network News sounder. Obviously delivered over phone lines since this was pre-satellite era.
I received this from Apple Valley, MN, using a Pioneer SX-3900 reciever, Winegard 10 element FM yagi antenna, Alliance U-100 Tenna Rotor, and Belden ultra low loss coaxial cable. For recording purposes, a Technics stereo cassette deck and TDK SA90 tape were utilized.

I would love to hear this file, but when I open it in Windows Media Player, it’s only 17 seconds long. Is it supposed to be that short?

Hi Dan,
Unfortunately, this short clip is all I have. I recorded it as part of a dial scan. Had my antenna pointed in that direction to hear Fargo and caught KJJK by accident.
I just launched a brand new site if you’re interested. http://www.radiogeekheaven.com All radio stuff!
